From Emergency Services to Business Analytics
For 20 years, my career has been dedicated to serving others through emergency medical services. As a paramedic, Field Training Officer, Operations Lieutenant, and Training Lieutenant, I've worked in environments where every decision matters. Whether responding to emergencies, leading operational teams, or supporting county-wide initiatives, I learned to assess complex situations, analyze incomplete information, prioritize competing demands, and make confident decisions under pressure.
As my career evolved, I designed onboarding programs, leadership development initiatives, and continuing education while evaluating training effectiveness, certification compliance, and operational performance. I also developed dashboards, analyzed fleet and financial data, and transformed complex information into actionable insights that supported leaders and improved organizational decision-making.
The more I worked with data, the more I realized that using analysis to help organizations make better decisions was the work I enjoyed most. That realization inspired me to deepen my business and analytical expertise through higher education. In 2026, I earned my Bachelor of Applied Professional Studies from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, graduating with a 3.86 GPA. I am currently pursuing my MBA in Business Analytics, where I maintain a 4.0 GPA and expect to graduate in August 2027.
Today, I combine more than two decades of operational leadership with analytical skills in Excel, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI to solve business problems through data. The most valuable analyses do more than explain what happened—they provide the clarity needed to improve processes, support people, and drive meaningful results.
Although my career began in emergency services, the common thread has always been the same: solving complex problems, leading people, and using information to make better decisions. Business analytics is the natural next step in that journey, and I'm excited to continue applying those skills to help organizations grow, improve, and succeed.
